This activity is solely supported by the Lions of District 13 OH4. Its been in existence well over thirty years first as an eye bank and now as a full service sight prevention program. The Foundation provides financial assistance to individuals in obtaining needed vision care including eye exams; to provide for eye related medical procedures; to provide preventative screenings; and to provide eye glasses in cases of confirmed financial need where other sources of assistance had been exhausted or were unavailable. Examples of assistance provided by the Foundation include cataract surgery, removal of tumors, corrected dancing or lazy eyes, laser procedures to relieve pressure in the eye and removal of secondary membranes from cataract work. Costs for surgeons, associated facilities and services are paid in accordance with Medicare Allowable schedules under prearranged agreements the Foundation has setup with local doctors and facilities.
One delegate and one alternate delegate are allowed to represent each Lions Club in District 13 OH4 to this Foundation.
